  • DeCS/MeSH - Health Terminology

    The Health Sciences Descriptors is a trillingual thesaurus (Spanish, Portuguese and English) comprising the standard terminology used in indexation and surfing of the Virtual Health Library information sources. Compatibility with the National Library of Medicine's MeSH (Medical Subject Heading) terminology and the commitment to the corresponding update and translation of such terminology into Spanish and Portuguese have led to the effective cooperation with the UMLS (Unified Medical Language System, NLM) Project over the past years. The DeCS even contain terminology related to Public Health, Homeopathy, Science and Health and Health Surveillance.

    It contains information about scientific event in the Women, Maternal and Perinatal Health areas, such as congresses, seminars, conferences, workshops, etc.

    It is a catalogue of health information sources available on the Internet, selected according to quality standards.
