    BIREME System cooperative database contains Health Sciences-related literature published in the region's countries since 1982. It includes articles from about 670 prestigious health journals, over three hundred and fifty thousand entries and other papers such as theses, books, congresses and conferences proceedings, technical and scientific reports and governamental publications.

  • MEDLINE - International Database for Medical Literature

    An international literature database, created by the US. National Library of Medicine - NLM, which contains bibliographical references and abstracts form over 4,000 biomedical journals published in the United States and in other 70 countries. Approximately 11 millon biomedical literature entries concerning the medical, nursing, dentistry and veterinarian medicine fields have been compiled since 1966. The database is updated monthly.

    The Scientific Electronic Library Online is a model for the Internet-based cooperative electronic publication of scientific journals. Specifically devised to meet the scientific communication needs in developing countries and particularly in Latin America and the Caribbean, the model provides an efficient solution to ensure visibility and universal access to scientific literature, and is useful to overcome the so-called lost science phenomenon.
